My sister and her now husband decided summer 2020 was their time to get married, pandemic or not. They wanted something small, intimate and simple. They just wanted to be married.
Flash forward after a few texts, and we went into planning mode. I sent her a name of a marriage commissioner. I pulled up a website for a dress, and we ordered the one she picked right then and there. I told her I know a fantastic florist that I’d contact about making a bouquet. Her only request was that the bouquet had sunflowers in it. What a bright sunny pop of color they brought!
We planned everything within an evening, and all they needed to do was get their license, rings, and show up on the day.
We drove out to meet at the Gabriel Bridge near Rosthern, Saskatchewan. They chose that location because they met in Rosthern when they were in high school. We did a quick first look before they exchanged vows and then continued on with taking photos in the late evening summer sun.
I was lucky enough to get to be one of their witnesses, and sign their marriage license for them. Since I was behind the camera, I think we only grabbed one quick selfie together that night!
I’m so happy that I was able to document this exciting milestone for these two, and I wish them all the best in their marriage!!
