I don’t seem to make much time for personal holidays, but I always try my hardest to make the drive over to my cousin’s farm for her daughter’s birthday.  It’s about a 10 hour drive, so we aren’t able to get together as much as we would like to.  My cousin and I have always been super close, there’s less than a year in between us, so it was us against the boys for the longest time until my sister was born.  They have an incredibly close knit family, and we were able to have my aunt and uncle come in for a few photos as well.

This family is the best example I can think of for displaying why I love family portraits.  You can see and feel the love that’s there.

They live on a wonderful farm, complete with horses, sheep, cows, and of course, a few dogs!  We didn’t have to look hard for great places to take their family photos, there were so many great little spots all over their yard.  (They even have a creek running through the back of their property!)  There are always so many photos taken during my visits with this family, and her husband was a great sport, and went along with all the different ideas and places my cousin and I threw at him.
